How to prepare your face for make-up

1.Exfoliation involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface.
Buy a  gentle, foaming exfoliating product.. Take a little on your fingers, then rub it on your face and massage it into the skin lightly in circular movements. Put concentration especially on the rough areas like the nose, chin or forehead. Rinse it with warm water.
Generally, you should exfoliate your face twice a week, but there are a few factors that could affect how often you should do it . If you have delicate or sensitive skin, twice a week might be too much and could cause some irritation.
You'll probably need to use it only once a week. Also, avoid using it near your eyes, as this skin is far too sensitive and doesn't need exfoliation.

2.A lotion is  preparation intended for application to skin.
Lotions are applied  to smooth, moisturize and soften the skin.
Lotions prevent and treat dry skin, protect sensitive skin, improve skin tone and texture, and mask imperfections.Twice daily apply lotion on dampened cotton by wiping in an outward direction until cotton comes up clean. Avoid eye area.

3.In cosmetics, skin toner or simply toner refers to a lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on the face.Second step is to use a toner. After you have used the lotion, it is important to use a toner to close the pores of the skin. This will keep your skin fresh and remove all the impurities. Find one appropriate for your skin type.

4.The next step is to moisturize. Your skin needs to be hydrated and you have to nourish it by moisturizing it. As we get older, our skin loses elasticity so applying cream helps to prevent damage.
Dry skin
For treating skin dryness, the most appropriate moisturizers are heavier, oil-based moisturizers .
Oily skin
For oily skin, water-based moisturizers that are specifically non-comedogenic are preferable.
Sensitive skin
On sensitive skin (which otherwise is susceptible to skin irritations, redness, itching or rashes), it is preferable to use moisturizers which contain soothing ingredients
Now your skin is ready.

How to reduce the Appearance of Large Pores with Make-up

There are two main factors that contribute to large pores: genetics and age. People who have skin that is naturally thick and oily tend to have larger pores. As people get older, too, sun damage and decreased skin elasticity can cause pores to dilate. The skin thickens, causing tiny cells to collect around the edge of the pores and make them look larger. Blackheads are also a big contributor to large pores. When the pore becomes clogged by dirt and bacteria, oil within the pore begins to accumulate, causing the pore diameter to expand.
How to reduce the Appearance of Large Pores with Make-up
1.Start with a pre-foundation skin primer, which will help even out your skin tone and keep foundation from soaking into your pores.
2.Let the primer dry, and then apply your foundation using a makeup sponge.
3.Use a cream or cream-to-powder foundation, which is more likely to conceal large pores than liquid foundation.
4.Finally, use a loose translucent powder. Large pores will be less visible, and your skin tone will appear more even.

The dangers of eyelash extensions

Dr Neda Shamie, an associate professor of ophthalmology at Doheny Eye Institute in Beverly Hills, California, told ABC News: 'Any chemical exposure to the cornea being so fragile in some ways or susceptible to scarring and irritations and infection, it could be harmful.'
But even if one is not allergic to formaldehyde, eyelash extensions can cause an infection known as madarosis, explained Philip R Rizzuto, MD, secretary for communications for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
'Sometimes just the irritation from the glue used can lead women to rub or tug on their lashes,' he said, adding that many ophthalmologists have reported a rise in patients with problems relating to eyelash extensions.
'Any chemical exposure to the cornea being so fragile in some ways or susceptible to scarring and irritations and infection, it could be harmful'
Consumer Reports warns that the eyelash extensions can also trap dirt and bacteria, heightening the risk of infection.
And the UK's College of Optometrists in England warned that the procedure can even cause permanent loss of eyelashes.
'Repeated use of eyelash extensions can cause traction alopecia, a condition where the hair falls out due to excessive tension placed on the hair shaft,' a press release stated.
'As a result, this can damage the hair follicle, which can slow down and even cease production of hair.
